Hemmagjort jordnötssmör

Homemade peanut butter

Peanut butter is good on sandwiches, in cakes, on apples and smoothies and very easy to make at home, but a powerful food processor or blender is needed.

This is what you need:

  • 500 g peanuts
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1.5 tsp honey
  • 0.5 krm salt
  • 2 tsp

Here's how to do it:

1. Set the oven to 175° fan. Spread the peanuts on a sheet of baking paper. Dry/roast in the middle of the oven for 10–20 min, the longer time for roasted butter. Open the oven door and release steam. They should be completely dry and the roasting should have given them a slightly darker and roasted color. Let cool.
2. Put the peanuts in a food processor, use a blender or food processor with a strong motor. Save a few tablespoons that are chopped to get a more "crunchy" butter. Mix the nuts and stop the engine from time to time and scrape down the nut mass from the edge. After about 5 minutes, the butter starts to clump together into a ball, and then it becomes creamy and warm from the friction. Mix in salt and coconut oil or rapeseed oil. The rapeseed oil gives a softer butter, especially when chilled. Mix for about 30 seconds.
3. Add any flavorings and blend for 10-30 seconds. Optionally add chopped nuts. Fill the butter into well-cleaned jars. Store in refrigerator.
Enjoy in your morning sandwich or as a topping for your smoothie bowl! 🙌🏻
