For 25 years, my vision has been to inspire a life of health and wellness from a holistic perspective. That vision is with me in everything I do, when I develop new products, help design the new Spa, in collaborations with other companies and every day in my work to develop and lead Nordic Superfood. For me, holistic is also developing products with consideration for the environment, animals and people, may sound obvious to many, but unfortunately the industry does not always look like that.

Our collagen - wild caught and preserved 

Collagen Premium+ is a marine collagen powder that is made from wild-caught Norwegian cod - we simply use the by-product of the fish that creates our fine collagen. It is 100% microhydralized which allows your body to absorb it better and it gives you better results. All our products are made from the Nordic nature!

1/2 dl organic applejuice
1/2 cup water
1 tsp sea buckthorn super concentrate

Sea buckthorn is the Nordic region's most nutritious berry with a very high content of vitamins, flavonoids and contains over three times more vitamin C per 100 grams than an orange. The berries contain a lot of fiber and the essential fatty acids omega 3, 6, 7 and 9

The truth about collagen - Bovine vs Marine?

There are many types of collagen and it is important to be critical of the different ways it is produced and to the price picture, we think.

Most collagen brands on the market today are Bovine (from cow) or pig/chicken. In other words, it is slaughterhouse waste where you grind down hooves and other bone remains. This is the cheapest form of collagen because the meat industry is huge and the supply is great. Then there is a better option – Marine collagen and there are 2 different sources for this, wild caught or farmed fish. Fish are farmed in huge pools, where many thousands of fish fight for space. They are given large amounts of antibiotics to avoid plague or disease and most fish collagen farms are in Asia.

Our collagen Collagen Premium+ comes from wild-caught cod, which is caught in the Arctic Ocean off the coast of Norway. It is a by-product from already caught fish, which means we do not contribute to more fishing. That's why many vegans actually use our collagen, because we don't participate and contribute to the fish being caught. We use the skin from the fishes, which would otherwise go to waste.

MONDAY

Start the week with porridge!
Starting the week with good eating routines sets the bar for the rest of the week. Your breakfast should be nutritious and filling!

Give yourself a stress-free Christmas

 For many, December and Christmas time are the time when you prioritize yourself and your training the least, with the consequence that you lose even more energy and the risk of getting sick increases. In fact, this may be the time when you really need to shore up all the stress of "everything that has to be done before Christmas" with an everyday moment for yourself!

It is actually the case that exercise prevents stress, in several different ways because when you steer or when you exercise, the amount of adrenaline and cortisol in the body increases. After you have exercised, the stress system relaxes again in your body and the secretion of stress hormones decreases. Exercise thus "burns" stress hormones.

Regular exercise is positive for sleep for most people. Sleep is important to avoid and recover from stress.

So there are many reasons to keep exercising, and let it be part of everyday life, perhaps especially important in stressful times. 

The biggest reason for many to skip training is precisely that it becomes too complicated, you have to book a session at a gym and then you have to get there and home, and suddenly you've put in two hours and it can be time you don't always have have. So the best tip we can give is to just get out there, a good podcast or music in your ears and take a brisk walk/jog for 30-45 min! Effective and no frills, and you get fresh air and hopefully some natural vitamin D too!

 

So in the midst of all the Christmas stress, take and invest in a moment for YOU where you get to move and feel good, you'll get it back a hundred times over!

Are you also bombarded right now by flyers about how to get in shape and the like during the holidays? It can certainly be a great time for many to focus on exercise and health, but can also become another stress factor and then only increase the amount of cortisol (stress hormone) and thus the exercise only has a negative effect. It is easy to actually become more stressed during the holidays, a lot of expectations, trips, children around you all the time, dinners to be arranged, thoughts about the appearance of the body and the performance requirements increase as the weather may not be perfect... PUHHH!

Get into a very good habit that can make a big difference to your health and stress level.
- Did you know that 70% of your energy comes from your breathing, if you don't breathe deeply for a whole day, the body misses 5,000 liters of oxygenated blood - a day! Imagine 5,000 milk packets with oxygenated blood that your organs must have in order to function optimally!

You can do this exercise anywhere
Make sure you step away from the mess for 10 minutes every day.
Sit or lie comfortably. This is YOUR luxury therapy, alone time for the soul and mind that also needs a little vacation.
Focus on your breath
Take deep breaths, breathing in through the nose and counting to 3 and breathing out through the nose and counting to 6.
Think of something you're grateful for and something you're looking forward to.
Place your hands on your stomach so that you feel it lower and rise, not your upper chest.
In addition to this, go for long walks by the water or in the forest 3 times a week.
Did you know that just walking can add years to your lifespan and keep your brain young and healthy?

Facts Cortisol & adrenal glands
The adrenal glands have several tasks, one of which is to produce enough of the stress hormone cortisol. Cortisol is released during stress, when we eat things that increase our blood sugar, when we exercise and when we wake up in the morning. Cortisol also keeps inflammation down and controls bowel movements. With long-term stress and excessive release of the stress hormone cortisol, we strain the function of the adrenal glands, and eventually they can no longer release the required amounts of cortisol. At this stage, we often have difficulty waking up in the morning, are tired in the morning, are tired in the afternoon and/or are alert in the evening. We also have a poorer ability to cope with inflammation, and if inflammation occurs in the body, cortisol needs to be supplied from the outside as cortisone, as we are unable to release enough on our own.
